Backyard birthday parties are one of our favorite things to deliver to โ€” there's something about a bounce house in the yard that instantly makes a party feel like an event. Here's a practical checklist to work through as you plan.

3โ€“4 weeks out

Pick your date and, if it's a weekend or summer date, go ahead and book your inflatable โ€” see our guide on how far in advance to book for the reasoning. This is also a good time to send invites so you have a rough headcount.

1โ€“2 weeks out

Confirm your delivery address and measure your setup space if you haven't already โ€” most bounce houses need roughly a 15x15 to 18x18 foot clear area, and water slides need a bit more for the landing zone. Check for low-hanging branches, sprinkler heads, and anything else in the setup footprint.

The week of

Mow the lawn a day or two before delivery (not the morning of, since freshly cut grass clippings can stick to a wet unit). Confirm your delivery window and make sure someone will be home. If you're renting a wet setup, double check your hose reaches the setup spot.

Timing the party around nap schedules

If younger kids are on the guest list, a mid-morning or mid-afternoon start tends to work better than right after lunch, when little ones are more likely to be winding down for a nap. We can typically schedule delivery a couple hours before your party start time so everything's ready when guests arrive.
